Purpose of the Role
This role is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of Client-Server based configuration and monitoring systems for our Pico and Femtocell products. The role also includes integration, developing unit tests, assisting in the development of the OMCR architecture & mentoring other team members.
Line Management: The role will report to the "Product Development Manager - Management Systems" based in the UK.
Responsibilities:
* Design, develop and maintain application software and unit tests for Java/Linux based Network Management System
* Produce and review technical specifications and design documentation
* Perform developer and component level integration testing
* Prepare estimates and provide input to the release planning process
* Address issues assigned as part of support & maintenance. Provide support to other functional areas as part of the maintenance and testing phases
* As required, assist team leader in reviewing software development activities and deliverables of other team members, verify estimates & mentor team members
* As required, provide support and technical input to the architect. Assist in communications between the architect and development team
* As required, provide technical input into meetings with customers, partners and suppliers
Travel Requirements:
* Will require overseas travel to interact with the UK team.
* May require overseas travel to support customer trials and integration when necessary
Skills Set Required:
* Hands on Experience with spring, Hibernate or Ibatis, UML, Design patterns (Class diagrams etc)
* Exposure in database like JBoss / MySQL / JUnit / Oracle
* Exposure in EJB or Swing technology would be an added advantage.
* Developing scripts for UNIX based Operating Systems.
* Software build system experience including writing Ant scripts, use of Maven
