Designation : Team Leader Software Engineering
Job Overview:
This position is responsible for participating in and providing tactical direction for analysis, design, coding and testing of complex or multiple components or subsystems of software applications with supervisory responsibility for one or more engineers.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, organize, and coordinate a cross functional product planning team (6-10 people) on high visibility product development programs with exposure and contact up through senior management
Ensure the product"s alignment to business objectives and drive business strategies in order to grow CA"s position in the marketplace
Drive the overall cross-functional team's efforts / deliverables in execution of all phases of development
Represent the investment throughout the product"s life cycle via formal, periodic Phase Reviews presentations
Execute project plans, operating within stated deadlines and/or budgets, while ensuring a high quality of work delivered.
Supervise the activities of the engineer(s) and/or analyst(s) and coordinate their activities with other Project Team members.
Ensure adherence to corporate policies and standards, acting as an escalation point for project team members to provide issue resolution.
Conduct performance appraisals and pay reviews of direct reports.
Assume manager role (when needed) on temporary basis to cover leave/vacations.
Assist manager (as needed), as delegated, in preparation of reports, analysis of statistics and customer feedback for senior management.
Preferred Education
Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in Computer Science or related field.
Work Experience
Typically 8 or more years of broad IT industry experience with various operating systems, databases and business applications.
Skills
Ability to exercise independent judgment in planning, organizing, and performing project management tasks.
Proven track record in meeting/exceeding stated deadlines and milestones.
Java, J2EE Web Services, Message Queues, Communication Frameworks (WS, UDP, TCP, SOAP, REST)
OS: Windows and UNIX
Strong knowledge in Unified Service Models & Integration framework architecture.
Will be required to work across products and domains - need to understand different programming interfaces for 3rd party integrations.
Will be required to interact/collaborate with CA Product teams, CA Services Team, Partners & 3rd parties. |
