(Primary Responsibilities)
The Manager for the eBay IPC load and performance engineering team is a leader who ideally has prior experience in managing highly talented and motivated senior engineers who have extensive L&P experience.
In this role, the manager is directly responsible to manage the day to day L&P operations for multiple trains in a highly agile environment and deliver L&P sign-offs for both US and international launches of releases working with US and China teams.
The candidate must have had prior experience handling 'follow the sun' model of global operations and has ideally worked in companies that have global operations.
In the manager role, this person would broadly spend 50% of time in people management and 50% in hands-on technical L&P activities which include but not limited to - team mentoring, automation, dash boarding, benchmarking etc.,
* Exceptional technical manager responsible for a core team of Java engineers
* Must demonstrate a sense of urgency and ownership to drive projects to completion and be successful in a collaborative environment.
* Possess exceptional technical leadership skill to lead large scale initiatives implemented by cross-functional teams that meet market needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedules, and adherence to development goals, principles and recognized industry standards.
* Has successfully managed performance (includes creation of goals, conducting performance reviews etc)
* Making a significant impact by coaching and training your employees to be high performing contributors
* Leads and motivates teams in a fast-paced, dynamic, and global environment.
* Ability to self-organize and work effectively with minimal supervision.
* Solid understanding of web technology, browsers, user interface issues and quality assurance.

* Should work well independently and in multi-group cross-discipline environments
* Work experience in all phases of systems development lifecycle - requirements, development, testing, deployment & providing live support; Will be responsible for design, develop and support products throughout all phases of the life cycle;
* Should have experience working with teams in rapid delivery environments
* Must be willing to relocate to Chennai
Experience
* More than 10-12 years experience in software development
* Experienced in expanding and managing a high performance development team, including: hiring, mentoring and retaining talented team members
* Must be a strong people manager. Prefer at least 5 years of management experience with teams of 10 or more.
* Experience in Financial industry is a plus
Educational Qualifications
* BE/BTECH/MCA with Computer Science as a Major with at least two years of first line management experience.
