Position: Java PM
Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for completion of assigned project within budgetary and scheduling guidelines.
Manages overall work of 15-20 IS and business professionals in 3-5 work groups.
Responsible for Initiating/closing the projects, modules
Prepare Project plan(s) including scope statement, assumptions & dependencies
Direct, monitor & control the execution of project plan(s)
Perform deliverable reviews, provide functional/technical leadership, and support team members in the completion of deliverables
Manage all the inter-group coordination so as to effectively meet all the project needs
Must be familiar with systems scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member.
To be responsible for implementation & adherence of quality process as defined by the organization
Responsible for Quality Assurance review and evaluation and documentation of team procedures.
Assesses performance, rewards results, motivates, and fosters matrix management.
Delegates, integrates activities & resolves conflicts.
"Risk Management - manage the project execution related risks by developing practical mitigation plans, and ensuring proper execution to lower the impact to the business."
Responsible for stakeholder management and stakeholder communication including status reporting (PSR/WSR)
Assist DM in resource utilization/productivity.
Performs project evaluation and cost benefit analysis.
Ensure sign-off on deliverables as part of project plan
Assess and interpret customer needs and requirements
Solve moderately complex problems and/or conduct moderately complex analyses
Provide explanations and information to others on difficult issues
Define the development tools and environment
Collect and collate product, domain, and technical information on projects.
Ensure learning are documented reviewed and uploaded to KM repository.
Conduct knowledge sharing sessions and common meetings to discuss learning
Identify solutions to non-standard requests and problems
Define/redefine standards & guidelines for specific tools & technology
Work with less structured, more complex issues. Serve as a resource to others
Review Estimation (TP Technical Proposal). Identify any special training needs on the project with project PM
Identify involvement of domain specialists
Plan, review and suggest usage of appropriate tools
Coach, provide feedback, and guide
Coach the technical team in the development of the technical architecture
Research & evaluation on technologies, Tools & Architecture Modeling
Active participation in building COE
Development, communication and implementation of the organization's technology architecture and applications plan, including the components required to support it and in the integration of corporate and business architectures and applications.
Eligibility Criteria:
B.Tech./MCA/Graduation from a premier institute (Minimum 15 years of formal education)
8รข€" 10 yrs of Application development experience preferably on Insurance domain.
Should have executed the complete SDLC on at least one project using Java, J2EE.
Should have experience of Webservices, Application Server (WAS/Weblogic), Spring, Struts and Portals.
Should be able to execute Unit Testing (Plan, Prepare & Execute).
Ability to work independently as an individual contributor in the team
Should have excellent people management skills and should have managed multiple projects with total team size of around 25-30.
Significant experience in a single complex development environment or across multiple platforms.
In depth understanding of business unit functions and applications.
Possesses unique or specific technical knowledge that is frequently sought out by others.
Strong knowledge of systems development life cycle.
Shows strong, general understanding of health care industry.
Effective communications with all levels of internal and external customers and staff.
Independent communication with business partners to resolve design issues and negotiate project related items such as priorities and completion deadlines.
Leads others toward technical accomplishment, collaborative project team efforts and achievement of important project goals
Has independently executed at least one project using complete SDLC;
Significant experience in a single complex development environment or across multiple platforms.
Should be willing to work in different shift timings.
